Vedhus Hoskere, is an Assistant Professor of Civil Engineering and Electrical and Computer Engineering at UH where he directs the Structures and Artificial Intelligence Lab. Dr. Hoskere has 10+ years of experience in the research and development of artificial intelligence, computer vision, and deep learning methods for applications in structural engineering. He currently serves as the director of the NSF IUCRC VISER Center Site at UH. Dr. Hoskere also serves as the PI on several projects including those funded by TxDOT, DoD, NSF, and NASA. Dr. Hoskere has won several awards including the best paper award at the ASCE EMI Conference in 2017 and at the SHMII-9 Conference in 2019. Dr. Hoskere received an MS in Computer Science and an MS and PhD in Civil Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
